Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
They answered Him, “We are Abraham's descendants, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How can You say, ‘You will be made free’?”
Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.
Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.
“He who is without sin
among you, let him throw a stone at her first.”
“Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?”
She said, “No one, Lord.”
And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”
Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”
Jesus answered and said
to them, “Even if I bear witness of Myself, My witness is true, for I know
where I came from and where I am going; but you do not know where I come from
and where I am going. You judge according to the flesh; I judge no one. And yet
if I do judge, My judgment is true; for I am not alone, but I am with the
Father who sent Me. It is also written in your law that the testimony of two
men is true. I am One who bears witness of Myself, and the Father who sent Me
bears witness of Me.”
Jesus said to them, “Most
assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.”
This chapter starts with
teaching a lesson never to judge; it continues with leaders of the time judging
our Lord.
Our Lord again reveals that in the beginning He was.
We as followers of our Lord
are reminded that we are sinners and have not right to judge and the light of
the world who had every right to judge did not. We all have different kinds of
weaknesses and strengths.
Let us not judge anyone just because we are stronger than them in one thing.
My prayer for us is that we would not judge first but seek to help and encourage one another; or to just pray
for one another instead of judging for we are in the same boat.
And truly Jesus did many
other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this
book; but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the
Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.
