The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The
Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!
‘Upon whom you see the Spirit
descending, and remaining on Him, this is He who baptizes with the Holy
Spirit.’ And I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God.”
Him who can take away the sin of the world came
and dwelt among us. Him who was in the beginning decided we were worth coming
for and forgive me for jumping ahead; but in us He saw those worth dying for.
In this chapter we also learn about the story of John the
Baptist; our Lord chooses His first disciples; and the story of Nathanael and
Phillip.
And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples,
which are not written in this book; but these are written that you may believe
that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life
in His name.
