Not a charlatan (John 20)

Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

That You May Believe
And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.

For as yet they did not know the Scripture, that He must rise again from the dead.

“Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.”

“Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.” And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!”
Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

I cant imagine how they felt; you have grown to love and follow Jesus and He is crucified in front of you “Surely if He is  truly the Son of God, then ….”

How incredible to see Him alive again; to talk and be guided by Him. 

The story of the early church is incredible. 

He wasn’t a charlatan as the leaders of the time and some may have started to believe.

We all realise without the resurrection the would be no Christ followers.
