For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son; whosoever
believes will not perish; they will have eternal life.
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory,
the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word
was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him,
and without Him nothing was made that was made.
I thought I would have an intro post because some
of us reading this blog may not remember why we are journeying through the
Bible. Our goal is to know the Lord for ourselves; to build relationship with
the Father through His Son. To know and understanding with and of the Father
and His grace. This is the last gospel we are going to be journeying through. Last
year in February we decided to journey through the gospels by Matthew, Luke,
and John (Mark we studied in 2017).
Here are a few things we should always keep in our
minds; I know we haven’t even started but I honestly don’t want us to miss the
lesson and journey as we journey through the book.
This book reminds(Christ followers) or reveals
(yet to be Christ followers) us that:
v Our Lord is the divine incarnation of
the Father.
v Our Father; in our Lord has purchased
our redemption
In
this gospel the love and the sovereignty of our Father in sending our Lord is
emphasized.
And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples,
which are not written in this book; but these are written that you may believe
that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life
in His name.
