Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
“What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine and go to the mountains to seek the one that is straying? And if he should find it, assuredly, I say to you, he rejoices more over that sheep than over the ninety-nine that did not go astray. Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.
“Again I say to you that if two
of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for
them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My
name, I am there in the midst of them.”
Therefore the kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants.
Should you not also have had
compassion on your fellow servant, just as I had pity on you?’
This chapter begins with the disciples asking who
is the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven.
Our Lord answers if we become like children in our
faith, trust the Father and obey Him we are first in His Kingdom.
He then continues to share 4 different stories :
We are to love one another, and be kind to one
another.
We are to forgive one another, no matter how many
times and whenever there is sin we should address it.
We are to care for the lost, and go out of our way
to reach those we know are lost.
We do not have the right to un-forgiveness.
We as our Lord’s followers are to relate to one
another in this manner, loving, forgiving, compassionate and forgiving.
