Knowledge and Understanding

Happy is the man who finds wisdom; and the man who gains understanding. Get wisdom; and get understanding. In reading and studying the Word; we get to know and understand the Father's GRACE. Our Lord desires for us to know Him and He wants to know us.

Thus says the Lord:
That I am the Lord, exercising loving kindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth.
For in these I delight,” says the Lord.

Higher than angels (Hebrews 1)

Our Father has from long ago communicated with us through prophets at different times and in many different ways. In our time He has communicated with us Christ-Followers through our Lord.

Our Lord is the radiance of the Father's glory.
In our Lord we see the exact nature of the Father.
Our Lord sustains all things by the powerful word.
Our Lord has purged us of all sin, purified us of all sin.
After He did all that he sat at the right hand of the Father declaring and revealing that He is higher than the angels He was no messenger but the Son of God.

This portion reveals our Lord as the Son of God. We are doing this study to grow in faith in our Lord and God. It is fitting that we start with whom it is we believe in. We learnt as we journeyed through the gospel by Mark who our Lord is and the authority He has over all and we are reminded again.
Being a Christ-Follower our faith is not in our selves, it is not in angels, nor is it in messengers, leaders or teachers but our faith in Christ alone.

Remember when the Father declared this is my beloved in whom I am well pleased. Listen as the Father brags about His Son.

The Son Exalted Above Angels
For to which of the angels did He ever say:
“You are My Son,
Today I have begotten You”? And again:
“I will be to Him a Father,
And He shall be to Me a Son”?
But when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says:
“Let all the angels of God worship Him.”
And of the angels He says:
“Who makes His angels spirits
And His ministers a flame of fire.”
But to the Son He says:
“Your throne, O God, is forever and ever;
A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom.
You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness;
Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You
With the oil of gladness more than Your companions.”
And:
“You, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth,
And the heavens are the work of Your hands.
They will perish, but You remain;
And they will all grow old like a garment;
Like a cloak You will fold them up,
And they will be changed.
But You are the same,
And Your years will not fail.”
But to which of the angels has He ever said:
“Sit at My right hand,
Till I make Your enemies Your footstool”?
