And he said
to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat
of every tree of the garden’?”
And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden;
And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden;
but of the
fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall
not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’ ”
Then the serpent said to the woman,
Then the serpent said to the woman,
“You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you
eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and
evil.”
Then the man
said, “The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave
me of the tree, and I ate.”
And the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?”
The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”
And the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?”
The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”
And I will
put enmity
Between you and the woman,
And between your seed and her Seed;
He shall bruise your head,
And you shall bruise His heel.”
Between you and the woman,
And between your seed and her Seed;
He shall bruise your head,
And you shall bruise His heel.”
Also I heard
the voice of the Lord, saying:
“Whom shall I send,
And who will go for Us?”
Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.”
“Whom shall I send,
And who will go for Us?”
Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.”
Redemption already in
place!
It is impossible to read
that and not be humbled in awe of this God who loves us so much.
Untruths; un-surrendered desires; and not taking responsibility for
our own actions damage our relationship with the Father.
Yes our Lord reconciled us to the Father; but these above, will rob
you of peace and enjoyment of this journey.
