As I urged you when I went into Macedonia—remain in Ephesus that you may charge some that they teach no other doctrine,
nor give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which cause disputes rather than godly edification which is in faith.
Now the purpose of the commandment is love from a pure heart, from a good conscience, and from sincere faith,
from which some, having strayed, have turned aside to idle talk, desiring to be teachers of the law,
understanding neither what they say nor the things which they affirm.
1Timothy 2:1-7
In this chapter we are given the weapons to engage in battle with.
Central to all is our Father's desire to see all mankind come to the knowledge of Him,
through His Salvation.
We are urged to pray for all mankind to be saved.
We are urged to petition, interced and pray for all in particular the rulers of our nations.
We are to do this giving thanks, our Father has the best plan for us, so we are to give thanks,
in anticipation. No matter how bad it is our Father has the greater and so we trust and give thanks.
There is no situation or circumstance the Father cannot change.
1Timothy 2:8-15
Stop arguing but pray; Clothe yourself in good works;
Live worshipfully unto God; Live in submission gto authority;
Live by faith; Live in Love; Live in christlikeness and christlike integrity.
The first chapter called us to be vigilant; to be prepared to engage in battle for His Kingdom.
It called us to be knowledgeable of His Word that we may see falsehood in any form.
This chapter gives us the weapons to engage with in battle.
Our Lord Jesus lived this as an example to us and a guideline how we are to engage.
Christlikeness is our greatest weapon. Perhaps our next study after we finish the letters to Timothy
should be the gospels.
